About This Workshop

This participatory workshop explores core skills underpinning the Open Dialogue approach, such as listening, responding and reflecting, and invites participants into dialogues that provide an opportunity to try these out and get an embodied sense of what they feel like.

We look at the original context in which Open Dialogue originated – Western Lapland – and some of the developments that have happened as it spread to different countries and contexts. We provide an overview of some of the research into the approach and the outcomes that have sparked the interest of so many people, especially for those with a diagnosis of psychosis (although Open Dialogue is an approach to many different forms of mental health crises).

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance on completion of the course, and access to an online resource pack including slides and relevant articles.

Who?

This workshop is suitable for anyone wishing to learn more about Open Dialogue. People with Lived Experience (personal or as a supporter) are welcome, as are those who come from professional backgrounds – in health services, social care, community and the voluntary sector

When?

We offer this workshop periodically, online, enabling you to book places on it no matter where you live or work. We are also able to offer this workshop to teams and organisations. Please email us if you’d like to talk about commissioning this workshop – either individually or alongside other offerings.

If you are in a time zone that makes participation in our upcoming workshops difficult, please get in touch. We are willing to alter our timings for future offerings to make them more accessible to those who wish to attend from other countries.
