Why?
This course addresses the challenge of “stuckness” in Open Dialogue network meetings. Sometimes it’s the dialogue that feels stuck – we feel we are covering the same topics without a sense of new voices coming in. Sometimes it is the situation – either we or the network are questioning the pace of change, and feeling “stuck”. Often this can be a place where we question our practice or the practice of Open Dialogue. This workshop is here to help!
When?
9am – 5pm on the 14, 15 & 16 April 2026 (online)

About The Workshop
This workshop, aimed at Open Dialogue Practitioners, is an ideal opportunity to explore the experience of ‘stuckness’ within Network Meetings. Perhaps, after a period of initial enthusiasm, some of the networks you work with are worrying that a desired change isn’t happening quickly enough. You might have times where you feel de-skilled, as if you and your colleague are missing something. You might have times where you question whether Open Dialogue is a helpful approach for a particular family or network.
This 3 day experiential workshop, aimed at Open Dialogue practitioners, provides a space for you to explore how being “stuck” is coming up in your practice. The workshop will give you the opportunity to share some of your practice-based dilemmas and experiences with other practitioners.
Together we will:
- Explore some of experiences that can leave us feeling stuck and how they affect us
- Look at what some of the core aspects of the Open Dialogue approach might offer in times of stuckness.
- Consider the concept of flow in relation to stuckness and what can help us connect to it
- Being with stuckness as part of the practice
- When and how creativity in Open Dialogue can be an asset
- Resourcing ourselves, as individuals and as part of a team
